About Steel Wheels Photography
Steel Wheels Photography is available for all of your full service commercial photography needs, day, night or in the air, specializing in the rail and transportation industry.  Providing extremely high quality images, printable to billboard size, Steel Wheels Photography uses advanced lighting techniques on sunless days or in the dark to make sure that the images always exceed the customer's expectations.  Additionally, SWP provides legal, FAA Part 107 Commercially-licensed, extremely high resolution drone aerial photography services that provides close-in imagery, more so than available with a helicopter or airplane! Steel Wheels Photography is currently based in the Northeast US, however available around the globe (have passport, will travel).   Having grown up on Railroad Street in Myerstown, Pennsylvania, just a few short blocks from the Reading Railroad and later Conrail, lead photographer, Kevin, was destined to be a railroad photographer. With the first photos taken at the age of 6 with a little 110 camera during the changeover from Reading to Conrail, the stage was set for a lengthy tenure in photography.   Having been chauffeured around the country by parents to get train pictures and even occasionally catch a cab ride (back when that wasn't taboo), until hitting the road solo at age 16, Kevin has logged mileage in 49 of 50 states and all provinces of Canada, racking up more than a million miles in pursuit of photographing the steel-wheeled machines. Professional photography includes photojournalism and photos in the following print media: Trains, Railfan & Railroad, Railpace, CTC Board - Railroads Illustrated, Pacific Rail News (now retired...), Diesel Era, Australian Motive Power Magazine, Germany's Bahn-Report, and a dozen or so others. Commercial photography clients have included: Genesee & Wyoming Inc.; Lake State Railway;  Central Maine & Quebec Railway; Global Partners, LP; LB Foster Co.; Steel Dynamics, Inc.; RailAmerica; Canadian Pacific Railway; Vermont Rail System; Montreal, Maine & Atlantic Railway; Conrail; Canadian National Railway; State of Vermont; the State of New York; Florida East Coast Railway; CSXT; and many others.
